# Andrey Safonov > Andrey Safonov is a co-founder of Solunar, a British Columbia software company that builds OpenStrata, strata management software for councils and residents, and OpenCommunity, member and program management for community centres and nonprofits. Based in Vancouver, he has spent over a decade building software for industries around the world, from document tools used by thousands of organizations to software for marinas, theme parks, restaurants and car rental companies. ## Current work - [Solunar](https://solunar.ca): Solunar is a BC-based software company that builds practical tools for the organizations communities rely on: strata corporations, community centres, and nonprofits. - [OpenStrata](https://openstrata.ca): OpenStrata is web-based strata management software for British Columbia strata corporations. It gives volunteer councils one place for documents, bylaws, minutes and annual general meeting (AGM) packages, routes resident requests, and answers routine questions, so owners get answers without chasing the council. Notes from the co-founder: https://andreysafonov.com/work/openstrata - [OpenCommunity](https://opencommunity.ca): OpenCommunity is member and program management software for community hubs, nonprofits and publicly funded organizations. It brings memberships, attendance, kiosk sign-in, scheduling, payments and funder reporting into one system, so staff spend less time on admin and more time with people. Notes from the co-founder: https://andreysafonov.com/work/opencommunity - [SAFAS](https://safas.io) (co-founder): SAFAS Secure Stream certifies that live video on a call comes from a real, uncompromised camera, protecting sensitive conversations from impersonation and real-time deepfakes. ## Pages - [About & career timeline](https://andreysafonov.com/about): full work history with stories and testimonials - [Portfolio](https://andreysafonov.com/portfolio): products built and launched - [Blog](https://andreysafonov.com/blog) - [Full text for LLMs](https://andreysafonov.com/llms-full.txt) ## Posts - [Running a Community Centre on Spreadsheets: What Breaks First](https://andreysafonov.com/blog/community-centre-software-spreadsheets): Why spreadsheets and paper sign-in sheets break down for community centres, family centres and nonprofit programs, and what member and program management software should do instead. - [What BC Strata Councils Actually Need from Software](https://andreysafonov.com/blog/what-bc-strata-councils-need-from-software): A practical look at what volunteer strata councils in British Columbia need from strata management software, including document access, resident requests, AGMs, privacy and onboarding, and what to look for before you choose. - [Why I Started Solunar: Software for the Organizations Communities Depend On](https://andreysafonov.com/blog/why-i-started-solunar): After a decade building software for industries around the world, I co-founded Solunar to build OpenStrata and OpenCommunity, software for strata councils and community organizations in British Columbia. - [3 Years at Aspire: 14 Companies, One Portfolio, and a Lot of AI](https://andreysafonov.com/blog/three-years-at-aspire): What I learned in three years at Aspire Software, building software with 14 companies that each serve one industry, from marinas to nuclear safety, and creating Signiphi, BluSynq and BluMarina. - [Migrate a Next.js App to GA4 Using react-ga4](https://andreysafonov.com/blog/how-to-migrate-nextjs-react-ga4): How to move a Next.js or React app from Google Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 by swapping react-ga for react-ga4. - [Product Manager's Guide to Writing Great OKRs](https://andreysafonov.com/blog/product-manager-guide-to-okrs): How product managers can write OKRs, with a complete guide and examples covering context, key results, objectives and what else to include. - [How Is Product Management Different from Solution Engineering?](https://andreysafonov.com/blog/how-to-transition-to-product-management): How product management differs from solution engineering in focus, meetings, feedback, collaboration and performance, and how to make the move into product. - [Real-Time AI-Generated Deepfakes Are Here](https://safas.io/blog/real-time-ai-generated-deepfakes-in-meetings) (on SAFAS): Deepfake technology has moved from theory to a real threat in live virtual meetings.
